Abstract

We present a study of a model for a single fermion coupled to a planar quantum antiferromagnetic (AFM) spin background via a local Kondo-like coupling. Within the framework of the linear-spin-wave theory and the self-consistent Green's functions formalism we obtain the quasiparticle pole strength vanishing as ϵ 1/2 with the momentum cut-off ϵ ⪡ 1. The wave-function for the ground state is constructed. Using this wave-function we show that the average number of magnons at the position of the impurity is finite and that the distribution of magnons decays as 1/ R at large distances from the impurity.
