Abstract

AbstractThe electrical stimulation of the ventral medulla evokes on the ipsilateral pericruciate cortex a polyphasic response (Woolsey and Chang, 1948; Lance and Manning, 1954; Landau, 1956; Jabbur and Towe, 1961), which appears to be constituted by two (Woolsey and Chang, 1948; Lance and Manning, 1954; Landau, 1956) or three (Jabbur and Towe, 1961) fast positive deflections (labelled as a, b, and c waves by Jabbur and Towe, 1961) followed by a slow positive-negative deflection.
