Abstract

Orthodontic relapse can be unsightly if it occurs in the upper central incisor region such as space re-opening or extrusion which readily takes the attention of the patient. The following is a case report of management of a single upper incisor extrusion occurred as a result of relapse following breakage of fixed lingual retainer with the patient still wearing a Hawley’s appliance. Since the patient did not want retreatment with fixed appliance and wished a quick, cost effective management, the case was treated utilizing the same retainer he has been wearing along with a single attachment on the labial surface of the extruded incisor.
