Abstract

Dentofacial deformities affect patients on a multifactorial level. Considering that 5% of the US population presents with dentofacial deformities that require orthognathic surgery,1 it is imperative that orthodontic residents receive adequate training to prepare them to manage dentofacial deformities in collaboration with oral and maxillofacial surgeons. There has not been a previous study assessing orthodontic training in the management of dentofacial deformities and its influence on subsequent practice.
