Abstract

Emulsions of ortho-toluidine, an amino-derivative of toluene, were sprayed on the adult Japanese beetle, Popillia japonica Newm., to test their value as contact insecticides. The preliminary results in the laboratory indicate that the compound has a definite toxic action on the beetle and that it might prove valuable as a contact insecticide.
