Abstract

Ecological, distributional and behavioural notes of birds made during a 2% year period in North and Central Sulawesi (formerly Celebes), are presented. Several additions to Stresemann's list of the Sulawesi avifauna, Pelecanus conspicillatus, Ibis cinereus, Pluvialis squatarola, Streptopelia tranquebarica, Hirundapus caudacutus, as well as many range extensions were recorded. Observations were made of the recently described subspecies of Serinus estherae.
