Abstract

Origins of the reveals the connection between Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech and Langston Hughes's poetry. During his research for this book, W. Jason Miller discovered a longforgotten reel-to-reel tape of King's first I Have a Dream speech, which was delivered in a high school gymnasium in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
