Abstract

ABSTRACT The article presents an overview of the therapeutic values of hip-hop works and indicates a method of diagnostic analysis of original texts useful in therapy and education. The results of the analysis are helpful for educators and therapists who use music therapy in working with adolescents with socialization deficits. The source material for the research has been based on original hip-hop lyrics written by boys aged 15–18, staying in an educational institution, in isolation from their natural environment. The methodological quality analysis of hip-hop message draws from the actor-network theory by Bruno Latour. The original hip-hop lyrics have been analysed as an image of a network of material and non-material connections, in search of information about deficits and development difficulties. The hip-hop lyrics are treated as a form of personal presentation of a life story, in which key information about the author is enclosed.
