Abstract

Proximal humerus fractures are a frequent fragility fracture in the aging population and represent a challenge to the orthopedic surgeon. Open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) of these fractures is a viable but technically challenging with a high complication rate. In recent years, reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) has become a popular option for treating these fractures. The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes between patients treated with ORIF versus RTSA for treatment for proximal humerus fractures.
