Abstract
The cobalt-porphyrin has been considered to be most plausible model for vitamin B12. However, cobalt-porphyrin complex has never been extensively utilized as a model of cobalamin owing to relatively low stability of alkylcobalt(III)porphyrin and inability of the porphyrin ligand to stabilize the Co(I) state in aqueous medium.1,2 The rhodium-porphyrin in various oxidation states3 has been found to be an attractive model to elucidate reaction behavior of vitamin B12 as well as the other model such as cobalt complex of dimethylglyoxime.2 This paper reports two kinds of new rhodium(I)porphyrin complexes, chemical behaviors of Rh(I)-porphyrin and Rh(III)-porphyrin and iridium porphyrin complexes.
