Abstract

Polysilylenes with pendant 1,3-diene-Fe(CO) 3 groups have been prepared by Wurtz-type polycondensation followed by hydrosilylation and iron tricarbonyl functionalization. All polymers but one provided air-stable α-Fe-SiC composites by pyrolysis. The composites exhibit fairly good magnetic properties (saturation magnetization I m = 17-19 emu/g; coercive force H e = 100-200 Oe)
