Abstract

The protonation of [(C 6F 5)LPd(μ-OH) 2PdL(C 6F 5)] by triflic acid (CF 3SO 3H) results in the formation of the diaqua complexes [Pd(C 6F 5)L(H 2O) 2][CF 3SO 3] (L=PPh 3 ( 1) or AsPh 3 ( 2)). The crystal structure of 2 was elucidated by X-ray diffraction analysis revealing the presence of tetrameric units involving hydrogen bonds.
