Organocobalt compounds : VI. Some oxidative and thermal degradations of methinylnonacarbonyltricobalts and (phenylacetylene)hexacarbonyldicobalt

Abstract

Oxidative and thermal degradation of methinylnonacarbonyltricobalts, RCCo 3 (CO) 9, yield inter alia, the acetylenes RCCR derived from coupling of two RC groups. Ceric oxidation of (phenylacetylene)hexacarbonyldicobalt is accompanied by carbonyl insertion yielding 2-phenylpropionate.
