Abstract

The reactions of NCO-intramolecularly coordinated organoantimony(III) and organobismuth(III) chlorides LMCl2 (where L = [2-(Me2NCH2)-6-(MeOCH2)C6H3]− and M = Sb (1) or Bi (2)) with Li2E (E = S, Se) gave antimony(III) and bismuth(III) chalcogenides (LME)2 (M = Sb, E = S (3) or Se (5); M = Bi E = S (4)), which were characterized by elemental analysis and NMR spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction analyses of 3 and 5 revealed dimeric structures comprising a central Sb2E2 ring in the solid state. Compounds 3–5 have a complex dynamic behavior in solution, that was studied by the help of variable temperature (VT) 1H NMR spectroscopy.
