Abstract

Although there are many ways to organize and deliver expert services to individual projects, some techniques seem to be more effective than others in identifying and matching project needs with the available expertise. Without appropriate planning and organization, technical assistance systems seldom achieve their potential. This chapter discusses the various ways in which a technical assistance system might be organized and provides guidelines for setting up such a system.
