Abstract

Abstract The goal of this Chapter is to provide an overview of the purpose and content of PM systems, as well as to provide high‐level guidelines for their design, implementation, and use. Several types of organizational functions are supported through the PDSA cycle of decision‐making using the PM system. All the key components of a performance measurement system have been discussed comprehensively. The improvement system assessment tool (ISAT) has been found to be useful in guiding organizations through the process of auditing their PM systems to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
