Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree to which the principals of government in in Qasabat Irbid Directorate of Education basic ‎schools practice organizational conformity, and its relationship to the psychological pressures of teachers from their point of ‎view. The descriptive correlative approach was used‏.‏‎ The study sample was made up of 367 teachers, which is 10% of the total ‎study population of 3,670 teachers. The (electronic) questionnaire was used as a tool for the study to reach its goals. The findings ‎revealed that the degree to which the principals of government basic schools in Qasabat Irbid Directorate of Education practiced ‎organizational conformity received a "high" rating. Further, the level of psychological stress among Qasabat Irbid Directorate of ‎Education teachers received a "medium" rating. The findings also revealed a strong negative relationship between organizational ‎conformity and psychological stress. In light of the findings, the researchers suggested focusing on organizational conformity due ‎to its efficacy in reducing the psychological stress experienced by teachers.‎ ‎(Keywords: Proposed Indicators, Organizational Conformity, Psychological Stress, Directorate of Education, Qasabat Irbid, ‎Jordan)‎
