Abstract

Electronic resource acquisition can be a complex process. Materials budgets, acquisition decision making, and workflow coordination all have important rol to play in the process. How libraries choose to address these areas, and what impact funding and staffing may have, are described through an exploration and discussion of qualitative and quantitative data compiled from interviews with 24 academic libraries. The study demonstrates that libraries are experimenting with different organizational approaches to electronic resource acquisition decision making.
