Abstract

The desire to organize a patient-centered approach in interaction with patients is increasing, as focusing on the needs of the patient becomes an integral element of the quality of modern medical care. Target. To evaluate the provision of medical care to children with cerebral palsy using various methods that address the needs of not only the patient himself, but also his family members involved in his daily rehabilitation and social adaptation. Results. Indicators of the quality of patient-centered care include the actions of the patient and nursing staff, determining the content of care in a specific clinical situation, compliance with standards and algorithms of nursing activities, taking into account partnerships with patients and their relatives, and cooperation with other specialists of the multidisciplinary team. Conclusion. At the global level, the World Health Organization recognizes the patient-centered approach as key to modern assessment of the quality of health care. In this regard, the quality of patient-centered nursing activities, as a component of medical care, is determined by three main characteristics: structure, process and result.
