Abstract

The use of modern technology by fraudsters to cheat citizens has become one of the attributes of nowadays: organised forms of online fraud have emerged. Insufficient attention is paid to this topic in the scientific literature. The authors of this study have attempted to systematise the forms of organised online fraud and outline its structural elements. This article is the first one in a cycle of three articles devoted to this topic. The authors identify the most typical types of organised forms of online fraud from the vast array of fraud manifestations and analyse the specifics of their criminalistic characteristics. Types of online fraud organised forms are systematised in the study; their characterological features and mechanisms of achieving the criminal result are highlighted. On the basis of theory and law enforcement practice, online fraud organised forms’ key types are identified with some of these crimes’ criminalistic typisation characterised.
