Abstract

© The editors and contributors 2010. This chapter discusses the concept of crime scripts as a means of better understanding and thus preventing or disrupting organised crime. It briefly reminds readers of the characteristics of scripts and develops a framework within which they might be understood in the context of organised crime. It ‘tests’ the framework through interview material gathered from senior investigating officers in a major law enforcement agency and discusses the implications of this for future action against organised crime.
