Abstract

Organisations are constructed, like any other kind of social system. An organisation is observable through the actions and interaction of its members. Police officers act and interact with each other and with people in the environment. The basic element in organisation structuring includes division of labour and coordination mechanism. This conceptual research paper suggests a link between the design of organisational structure in law enforcement and the use of knowledge management technology in policing. Future research is encouraged to empirically investigate relationships in the research model presented.
