Abstract

Abstract Church as an Organisation from the Perspective of Practical Theology - Between a Theological Super-Theory and an Exemplary Report: On two important publications from the years 2010/2011 by Jan Hermelink and Herbert Lindner/Roland Herpich (Book Report). The first book provides a theological systems theory for the church, while distancing itself from non-profit organization management, whereas the second describes how a new initiative in church organization on a district level was successfully implemented, while not going beyond the organization management perspective. Both volumes contradict, supplement and complement each other. For the purposes of portraying such differences in a textbook on church theory, reflection on the concept of hybrids is suggested.
