Abstract

In order to evaluate the impact of tritium on wild vegetation around ICIT we have monitored the tritium concentrations in precipitation, air, soil, grass and green wheat from a specific area near the tritium removal facility during vegetation periods in 2012–2013. The tissue free water tritium concentration showed the influence of tritium level in precipitation, with higher values during the summer (around 2 Bq l−1) and lower values during the autumn (around 1.3 Bq l−1). The same behavior was observed for the total organically bound tritium level.
