Abstract

Phthalocyanine thin films show pecularities of growth corresponding to crystal modifications, grain size, texture, mass density, homogeneity depending on deposition parameters like substrate temperature, deposition rate and thickness. We investigated FET-, sensor-, and display-structures. It could be shown that also in front of a coming development of real molecular electronics several applications of organic thin films in electronic devices might be possible. The characteristic behaviour of FET's, gas and pressure sensors as well as of electrochromic displays is given.
