Abstract

The bibliometric analysis of publications in the category of "organic chemistry" for the last 30 years was carried out using the Web of Science Core Collection international scientific citation database. Russia ranks 5th now; it has 6% of publications of the global amount. There is a double increase in the number of papers by domestic researchers. The priority in choosing publications for the benefit of foreign journals is changing. The leader among organizations within the country is Lomonosov Moscow State University. The interest of organic chemists towards the area of medical and physical chemistry is increasing, whereas the fraction of research related to biochemistry and molecular biology is decreasing.
