Abstract

A model of pure trophoblastic organ cell culture in vitro consisting of nodules of trophoblastic cells and colonies of individual cells is presented. The importance of pure trophoblastic culture tissue, as described here, lies in the fact that immunologic and biologic properties of such tissue can be defined without confusion due to presence of ot her placental elements. To the best of our knowledge this is the first attempt to produce organ cell trophoblastic culture described in the literature.
