Abstract

This article reports on the Willamette River Water Treatment Plant in Wilsonville, Oregon, receiving the Best of 2002 award in the category of Outstanding Public Project for Oregon from Northwest Construction magazine. The $43.8 million project, which had a design‐build contract, was cited for its blend of technological excellence and contribution to the environment and society. The plant was delivered on a fast track to enable the fast‐growing city of Wilsonville to lift a moratorium on new development that had been imposed because of the city's inadequate water supply.
