Abstract

The order-disorder models of PO4 dipoles are examined for KDP type ferro- and antiferroelectrics. The Fourier transforms of dipole-dipole interactions between PO4 dipoles have been numerically computed. As far as this interaction is concerned, the dipolar arrays of the minimum energy are the KDP type ferroelectric array for the “upper” and “lower” dipoles, and the Nagamiya type antiferroelectric one for ”lateral” dipoles. The Slater type model and the Ising spin type model have been reexamined in the light of recent experimental results, and their validities are discussed with reference to the ice constraint.
