Abstract

This article analyzes the contributions of Norbert Lechner's political thought to the understanding of the democratic political order, its role in the constitution of the symbolic meaning of collective life and its fundaments from the secularization of power by modernity. The text calls attention, initially, to the importance of ideas in the constitution of social reality and some aspects of the author's life and work. Stands out, then, the relevance of the theme of political order in people's lives and its role in fixation certainty and security for the collective coexistence. Then, emphasizes the links established by the author's thought between democratic political order, pluralism and secularization of the world. Finally, analyzes the consensus as a possible utopy that fundament the democratic political order. For the realization this research, the comprehensive method and research bibliographic technique were used.
