Abstract

To address the questions of author's disambiguation by providing digital identifiers to researchers and to link research outputs through identifiers, the ORCiD is the unique identity one can have, a research portfolio which travels with the researchers wherever they go. Both Thomson Reuters (Web of Science-Researcher ID) and Elsevier (Scopus Author Profile) are associated with ORCiD and have enabled transfer of data from their own research identity tools to ORCiD (Abertawe). The study is basically focused on the internationally recognised identification system known as ORCiD. In the study, the focus is to identify how one can have the ID, its benefits, pros and cons. The study is providing the required steps to get the ID, brief introduction of ID providing body, its principle and objectives to provide the ORCiD. In the study, a very well-focused attempt is made to identify how ORCiD Works?
