Abstract

Mining for heavy metals possess a well-known environmental concern due to the potential release, spread and uptake of ore related heavy metals and other associated elements in biota. After the mining has started, identification of the mining related metals and their contribution to the surrounding environment is essential to assess the impact and potentially to reduce environmental effects.
