Abstract

We present the preliminary orbits for the visual double stars WDS 15186+2356 (COU 307) and WDS 15347+2655 (COU 798). Both stars were discovered by P. Couteau in 1967 and 1972 respectively (Couteau 1999, Catalogue de 2700 Etoiles Doubles, Obs. de la Cote D’Azur, 3rd Ed.) with the 50 cm refractor of the Nice Observatory. We obtained their initial orbital elements using the Docobo’s analytical method (Docobo 1985, Celes. Mech., 36, 143) and we have improved them by applying a formulation for differential corrections on the observations (Heintz 1978, Double Stars, Reidel), taking into account the weight assigned to each measurement.
