Abstract

In this study, 48 elderlies with mild cognitive impairment were studied in order to observe their blood homocysteine levels and cognitive function changes after taking vitamin supplements. For this analysis, ChiSquare test, Fisher’s exact test, independent t-test, Repeated Measure ANOVA, Contrast test, Repeated Measure ANCOVA, and Wilks’ lambda test were conducted and as a result, it was found out that the blood homocysteine level got constantly reduced and the cognitive functions showed improvement in elderlies who took the vitamin supplements. Therefore, for elderlies who have mild cognitive impairment, vitamin supplements may prevent the decrease in cognitive functions and dementia.
