Abstract

A case of bronchogenic carcinoma is presented in which the altered pigmentation of the buccal and palatal mucosa in a patient who presumed she was healthy was important in alerting the dentist to search for other signs and symptoms of serious systemic disease and precipitated the series of events leading to the discovery of a malignant condition.
