Abstract

Since publication of an earlier systematic review and meta-analysis of the effect of oral nutritional supplements (ONS) on complication rates(1) further relevant research has been published. This updated systematic review and meta-analysis has re-examined the effect of all types of multi-nutrient ONS taken in the community versus control (including standard care, placebo, dietary advice) on the incidence of complications.
