Abstract
Statement of the Problem: Oral-nasal fistulae (ONF) after primary repair of cleft lip-palate have been reported to occur at rates from 0% to 63% of patients. Recent articles cite a narrower range of incidence from 5% to 29%. Most authors characterize ONF as a complication of surgery. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the clinical outcomes regarding the incidence of ONF in two groups of patients who underwent primary repair of cleft lip and palate.
