Abstract

Despite our successes in understanding of nature appearance of oral mucositis, it still is serious problem for patients that are given antitumor treatment due to local – advanced head and neck cancer. Dangerous of oral mucositis` related with antitumor treatment in that patients consist of decrease quality of patients` life and increase risk of life-threatening complications. We were tasked to estimate of efficacy and feasibility of offered in the world now treatment methods for oral mucositis related antitumor treatment for cancer of head and neck and reflect modern condition of this problem. We used systems of medical date ScopusGoogle Scholar, PubMed and studied modern findings about factors of appearance and flowing this pathological condition in patients that are given of antitumor treatment and also were studied possible ways for prevention and management in oral mucositis. Now there are exist many different types of prevention and treatment of oral mucositis and they all are described in this article. In some cases, use of this methods of management allow to reach decrease of risk of life-threatening complications and increase of life patients` quality but a lot of them are symptomatic, palliative. It makes look for novel therapeutic strategies for management for that patients. For making decisions about intervention, we have to estimate step of hard of that condition in patients which influence to ability to speak and intake of meal per month in patients. All actions are directed to increase of tolerable antitumor treatment, decrease of risks related with this treatment.
