Abstract

A case of Schamberg's disease (progressive pigmentary dermatosis) in an 11-year-old white boy has been presented. Schamberg's disease was present with other medical problems (mental retardation). This case is of interest in that the patient exhibited oral pepechiae and purpuric lesions which are consistent with this disease but are usually seen in the lower extremities. In reviewing the literature, I was unable to find any reference to oral lesions of this nature occurring with this dermatologic disease.
