Abstract

Oral malodor is a very common problem usually caused by poor oral hygiene, periodontitis, advanced caries, dentures, apical lesions and debris on the tongue. It is frequently discovered in routine clinical examination. It results in to serious social and personel problems among patients that affects of their whole life. Although lots of treatment procedures were performed up to date, oral malodor still remains as a major issue. The aim of this review is to give information about the etiology of oral malodor and to highlight the current treatment options.
