J Immigr Minor Health; doi: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10903-013-9870-0 Investigators from the University of Colorado conducted a cross-sectional cohort study of American Indian (AI) children to examine the relationship between caregiver-reported pediatric oral health-related quality of life (POQL), a child’s oral health status (OHS), and utilization of dental services. The study was conducted on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, the second largest reservation in the United States. Caregivers of children <7 years old who agreed to participate answered sociodemographic questions and completed a preschool variation of the POQL survey, a tool designed to measure the oral health quality of life for low-income minority children.
