Abstract

There is a strong correlation between poor oral hygiene and the incidence of dental disease. Here, Elaine Tilling highlights the importance of prevention in practice and describes how having an appropriately trained nurse to undertake oral hygiene advice can be an extremely valuable addition to patient care.
