Abstract

The Editorial section of this Journal has provided me with a forum in which to explore strategies that might prove useful in increasing the productivity of professional and public programs aimed at early detection of oral cancer and premalignant disease. In a recent editorial, I attempted to delineate opportunities for expanded educational programs, suggesting the option of reallocation by professional and specialty organizations of professional dental meeting resources to create new venues for the dissemination of knowledge regarding oral cancer and premalignant disease (hereafter referred to as oral disease) to the professions and the public.
