Abstract

Oral benign pemphigoid of mucous membranes (OBPMM) is a chronic and autoimmune mucocutaneous inflammatory vesiculobullous disease, which forms subepithelially leaving extensive superficial ulceration. We report the case of a 41-year-old female, feoderma, rural worker, diabetic, which arrived at the stomatology center with chief complaint of a wound in her mouth during 8 years. There were no skin or ophthalmologic alterations. Intraoral examination showed a single reddish erosion with ulcerated surface in the middle on the right side buccal mucosa, with white borders without elevation, definite borders, oval-shaped, non-infiltrative, stimulus painful. The diagnosis of the injuries was obtained through biopsy and histopathology, and the established treatment was topic corticosteroid, patient was also informed about her condition regarding on morbidities related to OBPMM. This case illustrates an exclusive OBPMM and the importance of a correct patient follow-up.
