Abstract

A high prevalence of bad oral habits occurs in preschool children aged three to five years in Indonesia. The age under six is the golden age to pay attention to children's health, including oral health. Bad habit oral causes dentofacial abnormalities, dental teeth, psychological disorders, and even affects the growth and development of children. This activity aims to increase the understanding of TK ABA Pasekan students (ABA Kindergarten of Pasekan) about oral health and the consequences of bad oral habits. This activity is an effort to sensitize children to avoid bad habits and have good and correct brushing habits. Educational materials are delivered through counselling using audiovisuals that interest children, followed by questions and answers. Supporting tools used are an in-focus projector, screen, and educational posters. Demonstration sessions by extension workers were followed by students' direct practice of brushing their teeth correctly and adequately. All students of TK ABA Pasekan enthusiastically followed the series of community service activities. Pos-ttest results showed that 100% of TK ABA Pasekan students understood the bad oral habits that children should avoid.
