Abstract
In this paper an outline of the situation of OR in developing countries together with a brief description of the state of OR in Greece are given, and a comparison between them is attempted. Some suggestions about the future of OR in Greece with a view to widening its scope through new areas of research and applications, and the widening of content using soft systems methodologies are presented. The conclusion is that OR applicability in Greece or in developing countries cannot be distinguished from the case of OR applicability in general.
