Abstract

Hierarchically structured ZnO nanorods/Ag nanofibers fabricated on chip using soft solution and polyol process was utilized for optoelectronic gas sensors. Since a built-in electric field forms between the two materials, an enhanced gas sensitivity in NO2, ethanol, CO and CH4 gas environments with assisted of UV illumination at room temperature in comparison with the pristine hierarchically structured ZnO nanorods.
