Abstract

Wireless power transfer systems are widely in use today for eliminating the power cord of battery operated devices. The evanescent resonant coupling operating power transfer efficiency between the transmitter and receiver coils is analytically derived. The power transfer efficiency of the wireless power transfer system is analytically determined. The power transfer system is simulated using RF toolbox in Matlab. The optimum power transfer between the coils is simulated using lumped L section networks. This is done using input and output matching networks embedded on the two ports formed of the resonator coils. The optimum power transfer efficiency is analysed on a standard Z smith chart. The implementation has been simulated using electromagnetic waves and antennas toolbox in Matlab.
