Abstract

A method for determining the source frequency to use in vibration production technology is presented. Vibration production technology is a simple, economic, and efficient way to increase oil production in some oil fields, and the source frequency is an important parameter in this technology. We use a finite element method to solve the coupled wave propagation problem in underground porous media and a modal decomposition method to solve the dynamic ordinary differential equations given by the finite element method. Then a direct search algorithm is used to solve the optimum source frequency problem. Detailed formulae are derived for the proposed method, and the numerical result of an applied example demonstrates the usage of the method.
