Abstract

The design of differently shaped wide-angle scanning-range reflectors is presented in order to sort out a geometry that fulfills requirements for an anticollision radar. Simulation studies show that an elliptic aperture reflector yields adequate performances. By implementing planar antenna arrays as primary sources, a compact low-cost antenna system can be obtained, hence suitable for mass production. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
